We have been trading for over 7 years and in that time we have become one of the leading recruitment agencies in the region in terms of size, reputation and overall success as a business.
This has not happened by chance; we set out to raise standards and to add value through innovation, to do things differently, better. So we are a highly motivated bunch of people with a shed load of experience in the recruitment industry driven by a desire to improve our performance - both with regards to the services that we provide our candidates and clients and as a business operating in a highly competitive sector of UK plc.
Whilst we might rightly be accused of being a bit anal about driving change in our industry, what it means to job seekers is that they are dealing with people that really care and will go to the ends of the earth to make it happen for them. Likewise with our clients; going the extra mile is standard practice. Our client testimonials and the number of nominations we have received for national business awards bear testimony to that.
Chris Leonard, CEO and co-founder
Chris has been setting up, building and running employment agencies for twenty four years now and shows no signs of stopping!
He co-founded a London based recruitment business in 1986 which he built into a national agency, Securicor Recruitment Services, which was acquired by Randstad in 2000 and now forms the core of their UK branch network.
For the last ten years he has been working out how best to transform the original ‘branch based’ recruitment agency business model into a more effective, efficient and profitable structure, driven by the knowledge that the ongoing erosion of margins, increasing costs and burgeoning web based services must inevitably lead to change being forced on the sector.
Rather than wait for this to happen, having met John Ross and found that he shared this vision for the future, they combined forces and created Edge Recruits – what they believe is the first ‘virtual’ high street recruitment agency designed from the ground up to provide ‘generalist’ recruitment services UK wide but without a branch network – and capable of setting new standards of performance over the next decade.
Chris is a well-known and respected figure in the recruitment industry with a reputation for challenging convention. He has served as a director of FRES for many years (now the Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and was the UK's representative for CIETT - the international body representing the temp industry worldwide. Chris was invited to speak on the future of the industry at the first ever World Leaders in Recruitment Conference in London in 1997 and his (then) contentious predictions are now coming true – a fact that he is keen to capitalize on!
Chris, age 57, lives in Devon where he likes getting out on the water and the moors when time (and body) permits and playing bass in a local rock band.
