Introduction

Edge Recruits has been appointed as ‘Master Vendor’ for the supply of all temporary warehouse staff to the Stuart Marsh Group based in Exeter.

The Stuart Marsh Shoes Group designs, develops and produces a range of leading brand footwear. Whilst products are manufactured across twelve different countries, all warehousing/distribution and head-office functions are located on site in Exeter.

With peaks in business during the year, there is the need for temporary warehouse staff to help in ‘goods in’ and dispatch. Edge Recruits welcomes applications from people with previous warehouse/goods in or dispatch experience who would like to work on short/medium term assignments based in Marsh Barton, Exeter.

Having successfully grown over thirty years, Stuart Marsh have three group companies: Rainbow Club, Sterling & Hunt and Chatham Marine. With a strong emphasis upon customer care and quality of service, they are constantly improving upon their product portfolio of leading brands in bridal and fashion footwear.

They are extremely passionate about their products and the way they achieve their aims and strive for customer satisfaction with an honest approach.

All design and development is produced by the design department in the UK and the quality standards and fitting is done by their own SATRA trained in-house staff. Alongside this their international network is growing, with offices now in India, Pakistan and strong links with Thailand, China and Indonesia. Along with their partner factories, the group manufactures nearly 1 million pairs of shoes across twelve different countries.

Since starting the company in 1976 when Stuart Marsh opened two shoe shops in Exeter and Paignton selling fashion footwear, the company grew to over 20 footwear outlets across the South West. These were eventually sold to Clarks in 1992 before the group went on to develop the Sterling & Hunt brand alongside Rainbow Club which had been established since 1986.

Stuart Marsh himself has been instrumental over the years in raising over £51,000 for Footwear Friends and Devon based charities. These have included various exciting expeditions including:-

2002 – Motorbike ride from Cape Town to Nairobi
2003 – Motorbike ride from Nairobi to Cairo
