Slivers-of-Time is a government backed initiative to help part time workers find available work powered by The Edge UK in the South West. Working is for anyone with spare hours to sell to local employers. This new way of working, funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, gives individuals immediate cash, all sorts of skills and a verified CV of successful short bookings. Employers get an ultra-flexible, motivated, pool of top-up workers who can be booked at short notice 24/7. In the South West The Edge UK is building the database of Sellers and Buyers of time in order to establish an effective Slivers of Time marketplace and is the ‘engine’ that enables the market to work by registering and vetting candidates and providing payroll services to Sellers and support and billing functions for Buyers.
